Shaunavon RCMP have been kept busy over the last several days.

At approximately 4:15 PM on Friday January 27th, police responded to a 911 call from a male in Eastend who was threatening to hurt himself with a gun.

The Maple Creek detachment gave assistance and members were able to establish phone conversation with the male inside a residence. While speaking with members, the man discharged his firearm twice inside his residence at objects located inside.

Negotiations continued and the man was taken into custody without further incident. A 22 caliber revolver and ammunition was seized from the residence. No injuries were reported.


Police are also investigating a report of a break and enter at the Historic Shaunavon Hotel that occurred between nine pm on January 29th and ten am on January 30th. Anyone with information on this crime to asked to contact Shaunavon RCMP or Saskatchewan Crimestoppers.

And Shaunavon RCMP also responded to a single vehicle roll over in the early evening of January 29th on Highway 37 approximately 15 kms south of Shaunavon. There were no injuries.
