A BC man is facing drug charges after a traffic stop near Swift Current over the weekend.
RCMP say a vehicle travelling eastbound on the Trans-Canada Highway was caught speeding near the city on Saturday, and after the stop, officers became suspicious that the vehicle was carrying a controlled substance. A search of the car turned up around 54 pounds of marijuana.
Forty-five year old Robert Peterson of Victoria was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, and will make his first court appearance on July 25th in Swift Current.
