Some of the drugs seized in the Palfrey case

A Swift Current judge dropped the hammer on two men involved in the largest drug bust in Saskatchewan history.

Justice T.J. Keene sentenced 26-year-old Brock Ernest Palfrey from Vernon, BC to 18 years in prison

The man described as the kingpin of the operation will receive credit for 472 days served before sentencing.

Meanwhile, a courier in the operation, 26-year-old Troy Ernest Swanson was sentenced to 11 years less 117 days time served.

The crown had recommended sentences of 25 years for Palfrey and 15 years for Swanson.

Palfrey pleaded guilty to seven counts pertaining to a trafficking operation between the northern US, southern Saskatchewan and eventually to BC.

51-year-old BC man William Bruce Larson was sentenced to 12 years in jail this September for his role in the operation.

Police report the operation was trafficking upwards of 600kg of cocaine, valued at over $150 million, and 95,000 MDMA/Ecstasy pills with a retail valued of close to $9 million.
