The Shaunavon Chamber of Commerce will be honoring their 2012 Citizens of the Year this weekend. The Chamber is proud to honor two recipents of this year`s honor, local volunteers Helen Fauchon and Florence Selvig.
Both ladies are the driving force behind the Chamber Welcome Committee. They also are both members of the CWL, have delivered meals on wheels, a large contributors to the Crescent Point Wickenheiser Centre and are members of Christ the King Parish choir and have served on the Parish Council.
Fauchon is honoured, “Well I was so very very surprised to hear the news but when it finally sunk in that it was happening I was thrilled to think that some one felt I qualified for a nomination.”
Selvig said her reaction was that of shock, “My initial reaction was one of complete shock, disbelief, and I was totally overwhelmed. I feel comforted that there is two of us. It's not quite so scary and it makes it more fun for both of us I think”
Helen and Florence will be honored at a Gala Banquet Saturday April 14th in Shaunavon. Tickets are 30 dollars each and are available at Joz Cloz.
