The Shaunavon Boomtown Days Stampede is all set to go this Friday and Saturday out at the Ron Winquist Arena, just west of town.
This CCA rodeo features events such as saddle bronc, steer wrestling, bull riding and ladies barrel racing, plus more more. Gordon Brown from the Rodeo Committee says “CCA Rodeo is just more of an amateur class, not stepping up into the pro levels as of yet. So, this is kind of the first stage prior to getting into the pro circuit.”
The Rodeo begins each evening at six p.m. and will feature the Full Throttle Trick Riders during intermission.
There will be a concession and Bavarian garden on site. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for students and children five and under are admitted free of charge.
The Stomp on the Grounds Rodeo Dance goes Friday evening following the rodeo at about 9:30. featuring Chris Henderson. Tickets are $15 in advance .. call 297-8864 or $20 at the door. No minors will be admitted.
Slack happens out at the grounds Saturday morning starting at ten. And the Team Roping Jackpot also goes out at the grounds on Saturday. Enter at noon, with roping to start at one o'clock.
