Crescent Point Energy have decided to continue their involvement with Shaunavon's recreation facility.

The new agreement means that the name of Shaunavon's rink will remain The Crescent Point Wickenheiser Center.

The new partnership with the Town of Shaunavon and Crescent Point Energy will run until 2026, and under the agreement, Crescent Point will provide $15,000 a year to the facility over the next five years for a total of $75,000.

Janice Moser is the Community Relations Coordinator for Crescent Point Energy. She said that they have been a part of the facility since the beginning and feel it is a great place to help keep the people of Shaunavon and area active.

She adds that they have a number of things they donate to around the southwest. "In Southwest Saskatchewan specifically, we support a lot of smaller organizations including food banks, legions, shelters, and local community events. In the past couple years we've supported the Dr Noble Irwin Foundation and helped purchase a fire rescue truck for the town of Frontier. Crescent Point provides funding for a lot of initiatives that reach the province of Saskatchewan as a whole, including the support of hospitals and emergency medical care, education, and much more."
