The Saskatchewan Health Authority in their daily COVID-19 update Wednesday afternoon are reporting nine new cases of the virus in the province.

Seven of the new cases are in the Far North Region and two are in the Saskatoon Region.

This brings the provincial total to 693.

That total includes two out of province residents who tested positive in Saskatchewan that were reported June 15.

Of those 693 reported COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan, 47 are considered active.

There are two more recoveries reported today, bringing the total number of recoveries to 633.

Two people are in hospital-one in inpatient care in Saskatoon, and one in intensive care,also in Saskatoon.

The number of active cases in the South Region remains at two.

To date, 57,217 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province.
