The Swift Current Salvation Army has put out a call for goods during their summer months.

Sandra Brong, Community and Family Services Coordinator, says their food bank is in need of specific items.

"Right now because we do have fewer food drives happening throughout the summer, it's not something that goes on a lot through the summer. So right now we are starting to get low on peanut butter, soup crackers, sugar, flour, canned tomatoes, coffee, tea, oatmeal and some hamburger helper."

Brong adds that their food hampers are doing well.

"We haven't had any special food drives or anything like that, we might have more coming up in September. Our food hampers that we hand out continue to be very busy. We always have lots of those going on in the summer.

Those interested in donating can bring items to the food bank, located at 780 1st avenue NW.
