With the holiday season upon us, and the extraordinary strain on  health care workers during the COVID-19 pandemic, many people are asking the Saskatchewan Health Authority how they can show support for the workers.

While dropping off food to the health care workers is a thoughtful gesture, the Health Authority says they can not accept this type of donation due to COVID-19.

You are asked to please not bring food to any hospital or Health Authority facility, including holiday baking, individually wrapped items or packaged meals.

If you want to show your gratitude to health care workers this holiday season you do so by donating to your local Health Foundation by visiting the Donate section on the SHA website, or by showing your support virtually on social media channels.

The SHA adds that the biggest way you can show health care workers how much you care is to stay home, follow the public health orders, practice regular hand hygiene, and do your part to slow the spread of COVID-19.
