SCCHS recently hosted their Invitational Track & Field Meet, attracting numerous athletes and spectators to the track for the meet on Saturday.

Athletes from Swift Current, Peacock, Vanier, Bruno, Assiniboia, Lloydminster, Weyburn, Ponteix, Glentworth, Shaunavon, Mankota, Estevan, and Medicine Hat attended the meet with varying skills and levels.

The Comp's Lyla Thiessen broke a record in the junior girl's hurdles and Vegas Appel in the junior girl's Quad, securing her second place with a total of 1,657 points.

SCCHS athlete, Colter Folk broke a record in the junior boys 3,000 meter run with a time of four and a half minutes, while Kyler Duclos broke a record in the midget boys hurdles and long jump, with a long jump of 6.01 meters.

Nikolina Kapovic from Peacock broke records in the senior girls 800-meter dash and 1,500-meter run. Along with Vanier's Benjamin Keifer who broke a record in the senior boys quad with 2,2282 points overall, and received first place. 

The southwest athletes will continue to prepare for the upcoming 2024 SOLE-stice Classic Regional Meet on May 30 at the SCCHS track.
