The Swift Current Wolverines kicked off the PGLL junior lacrosse season with a 10-3 win over the Regina Barracudas on Saturday at S3 Arenas.

Adam Zanidean, Carter Lamotte and Isaac Froese scored in the opening period as the Wolverines jumped out to a 3-0 lead after 20 minutes. Frose added his second of the game 1:39 into the middle frame before Regina replied with two goals from Avery Sewell to make it 4-2 after two periods. Rayner and Froese made it 6-2 by the 3:20 mark of the third period, then after Jeremy Lejeune cut Regina's deficit to 6-3, the Wolverines wrapped up the scoring with four unanswered goals from Rayner, Ryder Turko, Grady Henderson and Brady Simpson. Paul Piche added five assists for Swift Current.

The Wolverines start a five-game road swing on Saturday in Moose Jaw against the Mustangs. Their next home game is against the Mustangs on May 16.
