NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs

The St. Louis Blues are one win away from reaching the second round of the playoffs for the first time since 2002. The Blues are up three-games-to-one after beating Patrick Marleau and the San Jose Sharks 2-1 last night.


The Washington Capitals have evened their opening round playoff series with the defending Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins at two games apiece. Braden Holtby made 44 saves, as the Capitals edged the Bruins 2-1.

Martin Brodeur made it into the NHL record books with his 24th playoff shutout, while leading the New Jersey Devils to a 4-0 win over Florida. That evens their first-round series at two-games apiece. 


Mikkel Boedker had the overtime winner for the second straight game and the Phoenix Coyotes beat Chicago 3-2 to take a 3-1 lead in the first-round series.
