The Swift Current 57's racked up their highest run total in seven games, but couldn't snap their losing streak on the road in Medicine Hat yesterday afternoon.

The 57's dropped the Sunday contest 14-5 to the league-best Medicine Hat Mavericks at Athletic Park, extending their losing skid to five games.

The five-run effort was the most the 57's have mustered since a 12-6 victory over the Lethbridge Bulls back on June 29.

Swift Current ripped ten hits in the game as Blake Adams, Nick Canas, Myles Miller, and Jerad Dokey all had two-hit efforts.

Adams and Ben Komonosky both homered in the game - their second and fourth of the season, respectively. Adams also led the way with two RBI on the afternoon.

Garrett Hawkins pitched four innings, giving up two earned runs on seven hits as the 57's starter, but reliever Isiah Campa was dusted up on the mound for the loss.

Campa pitched one inning, allowing six runs on six hits.

Tommy Steier, Spencer Koelewyn, and Nick Hooper each pitched an inning of relief. Steier allowed four runs - though none were earned, while both Koelewyn and Hooper pitched scoreless frames.

Swift's losing streak dates back to a 4-3 loss to the Moose Jaw Miller Express on July 3, with their record now standing at 14-17 on the 2018 campaign.

They look to climb within two games of that .500 mark tonight against the Eastern Division-leading Weyburn Beavers (23-7).

Game time is 7:05 p.m. from Tom Laing Park in Weyburn.
