Centennial School Building Underway

Unique.  That's the word being used to describe the new Centennial School in the process of being built in Swift Current.

"This will be the first joint school that will actually have shared space, up to this point, most joint schools in the province share a wall, you have the seperate school on one side and a public school on the other side." Chinook School Board Director Liam Choo-Foo said about what sets this school apart from other schools. "We're going to be sharing library space, band space, industrial arts, home economics, a number of common areas that are very expensive to equip that aren't used all the time."

Choo-Foo added the School Board saw some real advantages to building the spaces perhaps a little bit bigger but thus allowing both sides of the school to use them.
