With just a couple days left in 2010, the Cypress Health Region is looking back on the past year and ahead to 2011.

Interim CEO Beth Vachon says looking ahead, there are some exciting things happening in the region.

Vachon says there have been several highs and lows in the region over the past year, some highs definitely include having provincial recognition for the work they've done to reduce sick and overtime and worker compensation claims, recruitment and retention of doctors to the region, and of course hiring their first mid-wife.

One low was the region reluctantly accepting the resignation of CEO Jim Hornell in April, his leadership is missed.

Vachon adds a number of temporary disruptions of services at  facilities in the region in 2010 is an ongoing concern and something they are working on avoiding in the new year.
