The Swift Current Broncos announced today that they have signed 2005-born import defenceman Jakub Dvorak.

“We are excited to add Jakub to our lineup,” said Broncos General Manager Chad Leslie. “He skates extremely well, and makes simple easy plays and has the ability to play a lot of minutes for us right away.”

Dvorak (6’5”/203lbs), out of Liberec, Czechia, is a second-round NHL Draft pick of the Los Angeles Kings from the 2023 draft, 54th overall. He joins the Broncos after playing back home with the Bili Tygri Liberec club. Over the last two seasons, Dvorak played mostly in Czechia’s top professional league, playing 43 games, scoring twice and adding three assists. He also played three games with the U20 club, notching two points.

Dvorak also joined Team Czechia at a number of international events. He captained the U18 squad at the World Under-18 Championships in 2022/2023 and earned three points in five games. He was also part of the U18 club at the 2021/2022 tournament. Dvorak joined Team Czechia at the 2022 Hlinka Gretzky Cup as well where he had one goal and one assist in five games.

In the summer of 2022, the Broncos made Dvorak the 22nd overall pick in the CHL Import Draft.

Dvorak signed his entry-level deal with the Kings on July 14, 2023.
