Innovation Credit Union Interim CEO Susan Woods (centre) presents the SCBEX Business of the Year Award to Darcy and Bonnie Faucher of Swift Shoe Repair and Leather Shoppe
The 2011 SCBEX Awards gala took place last night at the Sky Centre in Swift Current, with the best businesses in the city and the southwest being honoured.
Swift Shoe Repair and Leather Shoppe was the big winner, taking home Business of the Year. Co-owner Darcy Faucher says he was totally shocked by the award:
Crutch's Plumbing and Heating was the winner of the New Business of the Year Award. Cal Krause says he's honoured by the award, and says Swift Current is a great place to start a business:
The gala also honoured long-time business Et cetera Et cetera, with an induction into the Business Hall of Fame. Arlie Hermanson, who has owned the store since 1996, was honoured by the induction.
Et cetera Et cetera has been in operation since 1984, and has had the same location at Swift Current Mall since the mall opened in 1987.
