holiday train dec 7

As the holiday season sneaks up on us, one way to get in the spirit is to check out the CP Holiday Train.

The Holiday Train will be making their cross-Canada trip starting November 28th, and making their Swift Current stop Saturday December 8th at 12:30.

The Holiday Train has been around for several years, and the charity they raise money for in our community is the Salvation Army.

"The Holiday Train has been around since 1999, and in that time we've raised $6.4 million, and about 2.6 million pounds of food for North American Food Banks," said a spokesperson for the Holiday Train, "everything we raise that day stays in the community for Local distribution." The stop will be a full on event with some free entertainment provided.

"We have Doc Walker and Miss Emily on the train this year, Doc Walker is from Portage La Prairie, Manitoba and they're Juno Award nominees, and Miss Emily is a Kingston, Ontario native, and she's known as one of the best kept secrets in the music business."

The train makes its stop at 3rd Street and North Railway east of the CP Station.
