The City of Swift Current has begun its annual tree collection program, allowing locals to drop off their Christmas trees at five locations across the city.

The program began December 23rd and will run until the end of the day January 8th 2016.

Locals can drop off their trees at the Wheatland Mall (north parking lot, by Peavy Mart), iPlex rinks (northeast parking lot), Swift Current Branch Library (east parking lot), The Swift Current Mall (northwest parking lot) and St. Joseph school site.

Tammy Wall, Manager of Environmental Services with the City of Swift Current explains the details to SwiftCurrentOnline.

"It's changed slightly as we've added more locations to drop off Christmas trees and the Kinsmen are providing a service on Saturday January 9th. They're providing pickups, so if people have their Christmas tree stripped of decorations and on their front lawn, they will come pick them up and put them in bins for you."
