City property taxes will take a big jump unless the province reviews it's long-term revenue sharing plan.

That from Saskatchewan's 13 city mayors who were in Regina yesterday meeting with Premier Calvert and members of his cabinet.

Swift Current Mayor Sandy Larson says without the new infrastructure funding, city mayors are predicting an average tax increase of 10-15 per cent.

"We're going into budget preparations later on this month," said Larson. "Our operating budget has a horrendous increase."

She says policing and labour costs could rise as much as 6 per cent, adding energy costs is a concern as well.

Larson says Saskatchewan mayors expect an announcement from the premier within the next few weeks.
