City Council has approved the sale of a parcel of land to be used for multi-unit housing.

A British Columbia based company put an offer on the 1.2 acre parcel directly south of the Salvation Army.

Marty Salberg, Director of Business Development, says the land is currently home to the city's BMX track, but the property will be levelled for the development.

Salberg adds Council had concerns about removing the BMX track, but he says the track hasn't seen much use since the skate park was built.
