The City of Swift Current set their mill rate for 2019 at Monday night's city council meeting.

The uniform mill rate was set at 10.982, an increase of last year's mill rate of 10.553.

"The uniform mill rate is established yearly by the council and it's based on the approved taxation budget," said Kathy Hopfner, GM of Corporate Services with the City of Swift Current, "The uniform mill rate is spread over all of the tax classes and the money that we collect from taxation will fund our general operating budget."

Hopfner added that residents can expect their tax notices to be in the mail the last week of May.

The base tax per residential property is $800 per property and per condominium.
