Controlled Burn

If you look east of the city this morning, you'll see large flames and smoke billowing into the sky.

It turns out the fire is just a controlled burn at the landfill that the city does every spring.

City Engineering says they were waiting for some cool, wet weather before doing this year's burn, and conditions today were right for it.
