The recent decision to decline a merger between Innovation, Synergy and Conexus Credit Unions is currently under investigation.

The merger proposal vote that took place last week needed 75% approval from each of the three Credit Unions to go ahead.  Innovation members voted 76% in favour, Conexus voted 95%, but Synergy members were only 60% in favour of the merger.

Les Messmer, CEO of Synergy Credit Union in Lloydminster, believes some of the organizations members may have been mislead and told they did not need to participate in the vote.

The allegations are currently being investigated by RCMP.
