Shaunavon hosted some special guests and special equipment yesterday afternoon.

For guests, there were representatives from Crescent Point Energy and the Shock Trauma Air Rescue Service (STARS).

They were gathered to celebrate ten years of partnership between the two entities, with Crescent Point being credited with being the driving force behind bringing STARS to Saskatchewan a decade ago.

Craig Bryska, president and CEO of Crescent Point Energy, is proud of the contributions they have made to STARS so far.

"Giving back to the community is a big part of what we do," said Bryska. "STARS for us has been a very important thing that we were a part of right from the beginning as a founding partner."

Crescent Point has donated over $34 million to communities they have been involved in over the years. Giving back to the people who support them with their work and efforts is something they pride themselves on.

Benefitting from that stance of giving back, STARS certainly has appreciated its relationship with Crescent Point, who have contributed over $7.3 million dollars in the last ten years in donations.

Andrea Robertson, president and CEO of STARS, was in attendance at the celebration at the Crescent Point Wickenheiser Centre in Shaunavon. She was accompanied by a STARS crew, and one of their air ambulance units.

"We wouldn't be in Saskatchewan without Crescent Point Energy," said Robertson. "[They are] one of our biggest founding donors. The Regina base's boardroom is named after them."

The celebration consisted of a free barbeque for anyone who came out, as well as tours of the air ambulance unit, with the crew on hand to answer questions.
