With Easter fast approaching, the Easter Bunny has returned to Swift Current.

The Easter Bunny is a character that many people will remember from their childhoods in the same vein as Santa Claus, Leprechauns, and other fairy tale creatures.

As the holiday approaches, the floppy-eared character has started appearing around Swift Current at a pair of venues. Families lucky enough to find the vested flat foot will be able to request a photo.

Michael Hockridge, who, alongside his wife, helps set up the photoshoots, is happy to keep bringing this opportunity to families. For him, it was disappointing when the chance wasn't there when his kids were small.

"Last time that we saw Easter Bunny was when my son, who's now 21, was a newborn, and we hadn't seen the Easter Bunny since," recalled Hockridge. "So we figured that was something that was neat and cute to do with kids."

Mr. and Mrs. Hockridge have been helping build holiday memories for nearly a decade now, with no plans to stop any time soon.

"As long as we have the time and the drive."

Together, they have set up shoots with another big name, Santa Claus. Those photos, of course, happen before Christmas Night to allow for scheduling conflicts.

Hockridge is always happy to put in the effort when he gets to see the kid's reactions to the Easter Bunny.

" A lot of them tend to be fairly excited," said Hockridge. "You go up, get the high fives, get the hugs, and they tend to be a little bit more excited."

Folks can find the Easter Bunny at the Swift Current Museum on April 1 and 8, from 1:15 p.m. to 5 p.m., and also on April 6 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

If the Museum and those days don't work for anyone, they can also try to meet up with the team at Pet Valu. They will be at the store, located in Wheatland Mall, on April 2 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Photos are $10 for a digital copy, with other options available.
