Four rural public school board candidates have been acclaimed. They are Larry Caswell (Abbey, Cabri, Hazlet, Stewart Valley, Success), Bernie Ford (Tompkins, Gull Lake, Wymark), Rod Fairbrother (Maple Creek and Consul) and Shauna Wright (Vanguard, Ponteix, Val Marie).

The two Holy Trinity Catholic School Board candidates for Swift Current, Lucy Gehl in Subdivision 1, and Mary-Jane Benesh in Subdivision 2, have been acclaimed. Shaunavon separate school trustee candidate Debbie Olesen has also won by acclamation.

OTHER RESULTS

There's a new mayor in Ponteix as Etienette Binette chose not to run this year, and councillor Shawn Larochelle has been acclaimed to the top job. There won't be an election at all in Ponteix as they just got enough candidates to fill their council (Ernest Lemieux, Hector Boudreau, Delores Laverderie, Felix Therrien, Cliff Emms and Luc Larochelle).

There also won't be an election in Maple Creek as Barry Rudd returns to the Mayor's chair by acclamation. Six councillors were also acclaimed (Barry Elderkin, Ellaine Hawrylak, Janita Cresswell, Justin McFarlane, Michelle McKenzie, and Kevin Harrigan).

Herbert Mayor Doreen Schroeder won by acclamation, as did her council members Rod Cannon, Rhonda Gerl, Doug Osmond, Heidi Riemann, Frances Schwartz and Roy Seibel.
