This past weekend Elmwood Park was full of vehicles as part of the Eliminator Car Clubs 40th Annual Riverside Run event.

President of the car club Cory Schlutz says this year a bit different due to COVID-19.

"A real good by in from all our members. It was a lot of extra work to keep all the social distancing and that sort of thing for the entrance. We ended up splitting up where our registration was from the show and shine to help better control on how people entered the park and that sort of thing."

In addition, Schultz adds that they kept track of spectators coming in and out at all entrances and exits as well as mapping out the park and making stalls and aisleways so people could walk through and follow arrows.

The event began with a Cruising The Care Homes event on Friday evening which saw roughly 180-200 cars in attendance and roughly the same amount of cars participated in the Show and Shine on Saturday which Schultz says was their best ever turn out.

A raffle for a four-post hoist was also held on Saturday with the money raised going to various causes as Schultz explained.

"We use the money from the raffle for a lot of different things, of course, we have been helping the Salvation Army out this year with the food bank. We do bursaries with the high school and we have been trying to work with the college and that sort of thing. There are quite a few things we do use it to help support other charities and other community events around Swift Current."

Overall, Schultz says it was a great success and wishes to thank all the sponsors, membership, and attendees.
