SaskAbilities received a helping hand on Tuesday from Farm Credit Canada during the United Way Day of Caring.

Eleven FCC employees joined SaskAbilities employees and clients to help with a variety of landscaping around the property giving it a facelift.

Michelle Poirier, an executive assistant at SaskAbilities, said they were thrilled with the help from FCC.

"We got way more done than we thought we would and we had fun doing it," she explained. "It's just really great to see the community come out and be so helpful and thoughtful."

Some of the work around the SaskAbilities lot included taking out some trees and shrubs, cleaning up the patio area and planting fresh flowers that each FCC volunteer donated.

"It's touching to see that many people come together to make our building look nice and make it nice for the clients to be able to sit on the patio," Poirier said.

FCC has partnered with SaskAbilites for the Day of Caring for a couple of years now and Poirier was thankful that they have been so generous over the years.

"They've been great to us," she said. "They're so kind, the same people come every year. They pick up our flowers, they know what we do. At some points, we didn't even have to direct them because they knew where we wanted thing and knew what we did."
