As Christmas gets closer and closer, the Salvation Army is still asking for the community's help and genorosity to reach their goal for their Christmas Campaign.

There will be a Police Roadside Stop set up today, but they won't be looking to nail you with tickets, they're looking for your genorosity and support.

"Instead of looking for seatbelts, they'll be looking for donations to the local Salvation Army Food Bank," said Captain Michael Ramsay with the Salvation Army, "the goal will be to fill a whole police cruiser with non-perishable items and cash donations that will go towards the Christmas Campaign."

Ramsay added they're still quite a ways off of their goal, but is confident they will reach their goal.

"Last year we set a goal of $10 a person in Swift Current for a grand total of $170,000, and so that's our goal again this year, and we like I said we still have a way to go, so I'd encourage anybody when they pass a Salvation Army Christmas Kettle to chip in a little, but I have absolute faith in the genorosity of the community that we'll meet our goal again this year."

The Police Cruiser will be set up today from 1:00-4:00pm today on Central Avenue between Dufferin and Grey.
