Communities in southeast Saskatchewan have been dealing with relentless rain this weekend, and more is expected there today.

Over five inches of rainfall has been reported in many areas east of Regina causing flash flooding and road washouts. 16 communities have declared flooding emergencies, and provincial disaster response teams are expected to roll out to the affected areas today.

Highway 1 remains closed in both directions near Wolseley because of flooding, and Highway 8 near Moosomin and Highway 13 at Redvers is also flooded out.

In the southwest, more rain showers and possible thunderstorms are expected throughout today, and there is a chance of rain for Canada Day on Tuesday, but the rest of the week will see sunshine and temperatures near the 30s.
