Most of the southern half of the province was under a frost warning last night, and Environment Canada is expecting much of the same tonight.

Meteorologist Bob Cormier says the areas in the west will likely get some patchy frost, as overnight lows hover around the 0 degree mark.  Areas in the east, as well as those on higher ground or in valleys, will have overnight lows dipping well-below freezing, and have a better chance at getting frost tonight.

Nobody wants frost at this time of the year, but Cormier says it is not uncommon to see frost in late May and early June, and that has happened plenty of times in the past.
