After some delays over the past couple of weeks, the City of Swift Current is saying that garbage collection is back on schedule as of Monday morning, and is thanking residents for their patience.
The delays stemmed from mechanical issues with two of Waste Management's three trucks, and crews had to work overtime with just one truck in an effort to get back on track. The City notes there will be regular garbage collection on holiday Monday, and no further delays are expected this fall.
They add that the Recycle Depot is now fully operational after it, too, experienced mechanical issues last week. Residents are being encouraged to bring their recyclables to the depot on North Railway Street West, and cans and bottles to the SARCAN Depot on Cheadle St W.
