As part of its ongoing fundraising efforts to get its doors re-opened to the public, one of Swift Current’s historical downtown buildings has partnered with a local business for a unique campaign.

Residents are invited to Give a Sheet for the Lyric, in which they would purchase a sheet of fireguard drywall through Swift Current Building Supplies for the theatre.

Board Member for the Lyric Theatre Bob Jamieson is one of many who are excited to get the construction underway.

“We're asking people to donate one sheet, 10 sheets or a pallet of 40,” he said. “Or if anyone just wants to make a cash donation of any denomination—we’re grateful for anything to tell you the truth.”

To complete all of the required upgrades to the historical building before it can welcome guests back for live entertainment and arts will cost the Lyric Theatre roughly $150,000.
