We'll be seeing some changes to one of Swift Current's newest tourist destinations.

The Saskatchewan Hockey Hall of Fame is holding their second annual induction banquet this weekend in Regina.

A whole list of new inductees will mean changes to the displays at the physical Hall of Fame located upstairs at the Credit Union iPlex in Swift Current.

Jerrod Schafer Interview"We're continuall looking to evolve the hall here,"said Director Jerrod Schafer. "There's actually a founders wall now where anyone can honour a friend, a family member, a former coach or something by purchasing a wall on the founders wall."

"Obviously our new inductees will be on the great wall."

The wealth of new material will lead to some alterations to the displays.

"Our curators at the Saskatchewn Sports Hall of Fame will be down and turning over some of the exhibits to make sure that we have time to honour the new class of inductees that our going in."

It's been just about a year since the first annual banquet in Swift Current and the opening of the Saskatchewan Hockey Hall of Fame. Schafer has heard a very good response so far.

"The biggest theme seems to be the shock of people who actually once they set foot in it our surprised by what a tremendous facility it is," he noted. "It's a great compliment to the iPlex, it's a great tourist attraction to the city... the board and the hall itself are just in the early stages and we're going to have to continue to build awareness around the province."
