An Engineering Consultant has been hired by the City of Swift Current to oversee the contractors work on the west landfill expansion of the industrial waste cell.
Work is ready to begin at the west landfill.
"So that work will be finished in probably about two months," said Mitch Minken is the General Manger of Infrastructure and Operations. "At that time we will be able to have our industrial waste cell working and have about ten years capacity and we also at the end of this project will be ready to start accepting municipal waste at the west landfill."
Minken added that what they will do with the east landfill is still up in the air and it may be a transfer station for the west landfill.
