A Swift Current man appeared in Provincial Court to answer to charges of possession of stolen property, theft, obstruction, and breaches of probation.

Mitchell Rodney Smith was charged after he and another individual broke into a number of unlocked vehicles on July 30th and August 2nd.  A number of items were taken, including electronics, change, and CDs.

Smith has been sentenced to a total of seven months in jail, less three months for time served.

After being released, he will also be subject to a one-year probation order with a curfew for the first three months, and he must have no contact with the other individual who was involved.
