Swift Current community members are encouraged to attend the second Kite Tail Connections event coming up this Sunday, April 21 at a local coffee shop.

Kite Tail Connections will be set up at the Frosty Bean in downtown Swift Current during their regular business hours.

Kelsey Fisher, member of the volunteer coordination committee for the Windscape Kite Festival, is excited for another opportunity to gather the community to socialize and support one of Swift Current's largest annual events.

"We're just really looking forward to getting everybody out at the Frosty Bean this weekend," said Fisher. "We had a good turnout in March, we're hoping for a bigger turnout this time, and just keep building momentum towards June."

She notes that no signup or registration is required and anyone can stop by for some conversation, popcorn, or a game of trivia.

"We've been putting in a lot of effort to reach out to our volunteers and making sure they feel connected to the festival throughout the year and not just on the weekend of Windscape," Fisher said. "We feel like it's really important to foster a sense of community and connectedness among our volunteers to know they're appreciated."

"It also gives us an opportunity to start getting the public thinking about Windscape ahead of time."

Those interested in signing up to volunteer at this year's Kite Festival can email volunteer@windscapekitefestival.ca, visit their Facebook page, or pick up paper applications at the Frosty Bean this weekend or the Art Gallery in the Swift Current Branch Library.
