The Lyric Theatre will begin its fundraising efforts this weekend to aid their construction costs to re-open the historic building.

In a spin-off of the former Chautauqua Festival, the Swift Current business will host Shades of Chautauqua Sunday.

The event, running from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., will feature a variety of entertainment in Market Square.

"Some music, some writers, some skits, and a little play here and there," Maria Doyle, the Front of House Manager with the Lyric Threatre said attendees can expect.

Aside from the live performers and plays, the fundraiser will feature a silent auction, a raffle, door prizes, and food (hot dogs, pie, and ice cream).

"We're looking for some food sponsors," she said. "Also some silent auction items. What we want to do is make little packages and let people bid on them. As well as a 50/50, so we can start it off with a nice little clump of change."
