Students at Maverick School will have a chance to showcase their work and talents tonight and tomorrow night at the eleventh annual coffee house.

The event, which will feature singing, spoken word and art, gives the students a chance to connect with the community.

"We will have three sets of entertainment featuring our talented Maverick Students," said Jayne Nicholson Principal of Maverick School. "That will include musical entertainment as well as a couple of monologue performances. In addition, we will have a silent auction and live auction bidding breaks, for our guest to view our student's amazing artwork, place some bids and hopefully take a piece of art home that evening."

Nicholson also went onto to speak about why the annual coffee house is important for Maverick School.

"This event will give some of them a chance to be on stage for the first time and for others to really showcase their hard work throughout the year, which includes our musicians and artists, " she said. "For the student, this is a time for them to come together and really come as one with the Swift Current community, boost their confidence and show us some talent."

The coffeehouse runs tonight and tomorrow night at the Lyric theatre, with the doors opening at 6:30. Tickets are available at Pharmasave or Maverick High School.
