A pair of mixed results over the weekend for the Swift Current Abbey Resources Midget AA Broncos spelled two wins and a convincing series lead over the Estevan Bruins.

Swift Current won 4-3 in OT in Game 1 on Saturday, as Matt Christianson buried the game-winner with 6:19 remaining in the extra frame.

Quinn Patenaude had a pair of goals, Brock Oberle put one home as well, while Kaden Floberg (3 A) and Ryland Hornung (2 A) had multiple helpers.

Justin Dueck backstopped Swift Current to the win.

Then on Sunday, the Midget AA Broncos cruised to a 6-0 win over the Bruins.

Swift Current scored once in the first, twice in the second, and three times in the third for the one-sided shutout victory.

Oberle had a game-high four points (4 A), while Beau Larson piled up a hat-trick.

Cash Arntsen and Levi Brewer each added a trio of assists, with Nathan McInnis, Levi Lamotte, and Chase Sawchuk adding single goals.

This time Brad Nyen was between the pipes, earning the shutout W.

The Midget AA Broncos head to the southeast for Game 3 on Friday, looking to round out the second-round sweep.

Game 3 goes Friday at 7:30 p.m. from Affinity Place in Estevan. Game 4, if necessary, would be 5:15 p.m. on Saturday in Estevan.
