More students are participating in our provinces growing economy and benefitting from the Saskatchewan Advantage Scholarship.

The scholarship makes it easier for Saskatchewan students to succeed in the education and seize the opportunities the province has to offer.

"What it does is it gives $500 per year, to go towards tuition, with a maximum of $2000 during their lifetime," said Advanced Education Minister, Don Morgan, "now the important thing to remember is this doesn't happen automatically, you actually have to complete the forms and apply for it."

Morgan added the scholarship has recieved great feedback since it launched in late 2012.

"One commitment we made when we formed government was that education in our province would remain affordable and acceptable, and this is one of the steps towards ensuring that tuition remains affordable with the institution and that the government provides direct benefit as well."

More than 4500 students benefitted from the scholarship in its first year.
