The Grand Coteau Heritage and Cultural Centre in Shaunavon is celebrating our town's multi cultural roots with special events planned today. There will be children's crafts and games from 3:30 until five this afternoon, as well as outdoor stage entertainment throughout the afternoon and free ethnic food samples and displays from five until seven.
"Well we certainly have had a number of people moving to Shaunavon in the past few years from a number of different countries and we want to celebrate that." said Wendy Thienes from the Grand Coteau Centre. "We are going to have entertainment from the Nekaneet First Nation's from Maple Creek, Sangeetha Balasinham, and also Ukrainian dancing and Celtic drumming and Taekwondo and a number of other things."
There will be a Wine of the Worlds Wine Tasting fundraiser from seven until nine. Tickets for the Fundraiser are twenty dollars each and will be available in advance from the Museum or at the door tonight.
