Campers with summer fever will be able to begin booking their nightly campsite reservations at provincial parks starting in April.

Monday, April 9, is the first day that parks will start accepting reservations.

The use of a staggered reservation system on the Sask Parks website helps maintain both manageable and steady levels of traffic, according to Robin Campese, Executive Director of the Visitor Experiences Branch with the Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sport.

"The staggered launch helps in a number of ways," she said. "It helps with people waiting on the line, so you not behind thousands of people, you might only be behind 100 people, so a customer service aspect it works better that way. It also helps manage the traffic to the site and makes sure that the site stays up."

Campese adds that every day two to three parks will be opened for nightly reservations on the site.
