Following a declared outbreak situation at the Western Senior Citizens Home in Leader yesterday, the Cypress Health Region has released the outbreak status is still in effect.
As of this morning a total of 4 residents, down 2 from yesterday and 6 staff, up 2 from yesterday are experiencing norovirus signs and symptoms.
Visitor restrictions remain in effect, and there will be continued emphasis on temporarily restricting the delivery of holiday baking presents and other goods to the facility in order to reduce the risk of transferring additional viruses.
Sample results have not yet been recieved from the Saskatchewan Disease Control Lab in Regina, however the Infection Control Team's efforts continue to focus on enhanced cleaning and infection control protocols.
