Swift Current resident Blaine Peters was back in Swift Current Provincial Court on Wednesday.

The 20-year-old was arrested April 30 when a search warrant was executed by Swift Current City RCMP at a 4th Ave NW residence in the city. Peters is facing methamphetamine and cocaine trafficking charges.


Background: Trio of City Residents Charged in Pair of Drug, Weapons Seizures


Peters was given a conditional release ahead of his next appearance in court, with the following terms representing the majority given:

  • Report to a Probation Officer;
  • Stay inside approved residence 24 hours per day unless given permission by Probation Officer;
  • Can not travel more than 150 kilometres from his residence;
  • Can not have drugs or alcohol on his person;
  • Can not possess any weapons;
  • Can not possess a cell phone;
  • Must submit to searches; and,
  • Non-contact with Bradley Melo and two other individuals.

The case was adjourned, and Peters will be back in Swift Current Provincial Court on June 10 at 9:30 a.m.

The other individual charged in that April 30 drug and weapons seizure was the aforementioned Melo. The 18-year-old will be in court Thursday morning at 10:30 a.m.
