The Ponteix man that was facing charges after his dogs attacked a teen earlier this year has pled guilty.

Robert Carpenter pled guilty to one charge under the Rural Municipality Act for owning an animal that attacked a person. As part of his sentence, he will not be allowed to be in the company or own dogs for ten years.

The Crown did not proceed with the criminal code offence of criminal negligence, causing bodily harm.

It was back on July 5, that three of Carpenter's dogs attacked a teen, biting her several times while she was riding her bike, causing several injuries.

This will not be the first time that Carpenter has been charged. He was charged and found guilty of two counts of owning animals that attacked a person under the Municipality Act from an incident in 2016. He appealed the decision twice in 2017, but both times they were dismissed.
