Environment Canada is investigating two potential tornadoes that tore their way through northeast Swift Current earlier this week.

On Thursday night around 7:45 p.m. a severe thunderstorm brought strong winds of about 100 kilometres per hour and hail.

Property damage was seen throughout the area in the form of overturned garages, lost shingles, crop damage, and other various destruction.

Environment Canada said that there was a report filed about two tornadoes in the area, but these reports are unconfirmed.

Environment Canada also said that any new information would be much appreciated in confirming these reports of tornadoes.
