A large area of the Southwest will be experiencing a power outage tomorrow morning, May 21st.

Sask Power has announced a planned power outage in the morning from six until nine a.m. affecting the communities of Shaunavon, Simmie, Admiral, Cadillac, Eastend, Frontier, Climax, Bracken, Val Marie and surrounding rurals.

Jonathan Tremblay is a spokesperson with Sask Power. He says the outage is necessary for a routine upgrade of an older piece of equipment. He adds “We're going to increase reliability and , of course, allow for continued growth in that area.”

They will be switching out a transformer at the substation.

Tremblay says “Our guys will be hard at work tomorrow morning to get the power back on right at nine.”
