RCMP Requesting Assistance Regarding Suspicious Fires

The Swift Current City RCMP is requesting assistance from the public regarding a number of suspicious grass fires.

On July 23rd, at approximately 5:15pm the Swift Current Fire Department and the Swift Current RCMP attended two small grass fires in the undeveloped area of Oasis Drive.

On July 24th, at approximately 10:30pm SCFD and RCMP attended another small grass fire, near the intersection of Springs Drive and Highway 4.

All fires were extinguished quickly by fire crews .

A vehicle was reported to have been leaving the scene shortly after the fires were noticed, but was not located by police .

At this time no buildings or other property have been damaged by these fires.

Police suspect these fires were deliberately set and are related.

Anyone driving through the Springs Drive, Oasis Drive and Battleford Trail East areas are asked to report any suspicious behavior .
